The author wrote: ‘After more than 35 years of scouring the science and popular-science literature of anomalies, my major observation is that the search has been most fruitful. In fact, I have wondered why the scientific community itself has not been systematically compiling such information. It is surprising that a Catalog of Anomalies does not already exist to guide scientific thinking and research. It is at least as important to recognize what is anomalous, as it is to realize what is well-explained in terms of prevailing paradigms. With these outlook and philosophy, here is an expanded edition of the first volume of such Catalog.’”
