Could the lost civilization of Atlantis provide the answer to the origins of human existence? The Rise and Fall of Atlantis delves into the history of the lost continent and its effects on the world it left behind.
In his controversial new study, John Gordon examines the evidence and makes some important observations. Many have dismissed Plato’s account of the lost continent and its people as an inventive fantasy, but Gordon argues that this is because we take his work too literally. While Plato’s Atlantis is an account of a lost ancient civilization, it’s also a brilliant and complex metaphor for Cosmic Creation and the evolution of consciousness, that can only be fully understood with a knowledge of the profound ancient wisdom traditions on which it is based.
His research leads him to question modern scientific orthodoxy on a range of accepted theories from the "Big Bang" to Darwinian evolution, which he claims, are built on weak foundations. He questions the concept that humans emerged relatively recently; the notion that dinosaurs became extinct due to an asteroid impact; and the belief that present-day global warming has a purely human cause.
